IMPACT Europe consortium partners and advisory board gathered in Paris
IMPACT Europe consortium partners and advisory board members gathered in Paris to engage in a comprehensive stock taking of progress made with regard to meeting IMPACT Europe’s objectives since the project’s launch in January 2014 and to discuss strategies for ensuring the continued visibility and future sustainability of IMPACT Europe outputs. As the consortium meeting took place in the immediate aftermath of the Charlie Hebdo shooting, participants were reminded once again of the pressing need for activities geared at establishing what works best in tackling violent extremism and thus the crucial and very tangible contribution IMPACT Europe can make to increasing public safety and promoting the public good.

Report discussing the state of the art in evaluating the effectiveness of counter violent radicalisation interventions now online
The first IMPACT Europe project deliverable is available online, offering a comprehensive discussion of the state of the art in evaluating the effectiveness of counter violent radicalisation interventions. The publication’s findings inform a database that helps to establish the most appropriate methodologies and metrics for the evaluation of different types of counter violent radicalisation intervention programmes.

New impacteurope.eu design and launch of social media channels
Impacteurope.eu has been redesigned, making key information and the latest news on IMPACT Europe more easily accessible on a wide range of different devices. The new IMPACT Europe Twitter account will enable practitioners and other interested parties to engage more directly with the IMPACT Europe consortium in the future, while the new IMPACT Europe Linkedin group provides a platform for in-depth discussions about what works best in countering violent radicalisation and the evaluation of related intervention programmes.

IMPACT Europe toolkit design workshop
First of two IMPACT Europe toolkit design workshops took place in Cambridge
On 15 December 2014, the first of two IMPACT Europe toolkit design workshops took place in Cambridge, United Kingdom, bringing together a group of counter violent radicalisation practitioners from across Europe. The two toolkit design workshops are envisaged to help embed a practitioner perspective into the development of the IMPACT Europe evaluation toolkit, which will support public and voluntary sector professionals in the design and implementation of counter violent radicalisation programme evaluations.

IMPACT Europe Project Meeting in Milan
On 3 December 2014, the last IMPACT Europe project meeting of 2014 took place in Milan, Italy. The project meeting served as a final opportunity to collectively validate the findings presented in the project deliverable on the state of the art in evaluating the effectiveness of counter violent radicalisation interventions. Consortium partners also used the meeting to drive forward the work conducted within the framework of Work Package 3, which is concerned with the development of the IMPACT Europe evaluation toolkit.
