Nederlandse Organisatie voor toegepast natuurwetenschappelijk onderzoek (TNO) is an independent research organisation concerned with developing knowledge not for its own sake but for practical application. TNO’s mission is to connect people and knowledge to create innovations that boost the sustainable competitive strength of industry and the well-being of society. TNO works for a variety of customers, including governments, the SME sector, large companies, service providers and non-governmental organisations, with the aim of creating new knowledge, better products and clear recommendations on policy and processes. As a ‘knowledge broker,’ TNO advises its customers on finding the optimum solutions to their questions.
TNO concentrates on 7 closely related themes, each of which has a prominent place in the national and European innovation agenda: Defence, Safety and Security, Industrial Innovation, Healthy Living, Energy, Mobility, Built Environment, and Information Society. One of the business lines within Defence, Safety and Security is concerned with Human Effectiveness (or Human Factors). Its mission is to maximise human effectiveness in interaction with other humans and complex systems in demanding environments.
Main project tasks
TNO will lead a research effort on reviewing the state-of-the-art in understanding radicalisation factors, interventions, and evaluation methods.
