IMPACT Europe at the 2016 SRIE
In June, Freek Hermens of VJI and Theo Muskee of DNP were invited to present the IMPACT Europe project and its outputs at the Security, Research & Innovation Event (SRIE), a two-day conference of talks, workshops and expos held in The Hague (Netherlands). The event gave the IMPACT Europe team a chance to gather feedback from professionals engaged in CVE worldwide, as well as to engage with a number of interested practitioners who subsequently joined the IMPACT Europe Toolkit pilot programme.

The Hague
Expert Meeting on Monitoring and Evaluation of CVE Measures
On 28 June, IMPACT Europe researchers attended a meeting of experts on security, radicalisation and terrorism in The Hague, Netherlands. The meeting saw participants discuss the opportunities, challenges faced and lessons learned in conducting monitoring and evaluation of programmes operating in the field of countering violent extremism.

INTERPOL event
IMPACT Europe Presentation at UNICRI – INTERPOL Event
On 24 and 25 May 2016, the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) and INTERPOL hosted an international workshop on Responding to the Threat of Returning Foreign Terrorist Fighters (FTFs) in Turin, Italy. IMPACT Europe joined discussions on the challenges and opportunities experienced by those seeking to ensure the rehabilitation and reintegration of FTFs.
