IMPACT Europe briefing to the Romanian Police
On 24 May, IMPACT Europe consortium partner Theo Muskee from Politie Nederland went to Bucharest, Romania, to collaborate with Romanian police officers who specialise in investigating and countering violent extremism. The Romanian Police were eager to learn from the Dutch National Police’s experience of preventing and countering violent extremism (P/CVE), and to better understand how evaluation can help to inform and improve police efforts in this field.
In the context of his engagement, Mr Muskee offered a demonstration of use of the IMPACT Europe evaluation Toolkit and guided Romanian colleagues as they explored the Toolkit’s different sections and tools. In particular, participating officers asked questions about the Toolkit’s functionality and the research underpinning its content, as well as about the Toolkit’s future development as new evaluations of P/CVE programmes contribute to expanding the evidence base.
