Helping practitioners understand what works in tackling different types of violent radicalisation
Two new partner organisations
IMPACT Europe consortium partners gathered in Tel Aviv, Israel, on 27 August 2015 to take stock of the progress made with regard to developing the IMPACT Europe evaluation toolkit and the training material accompanying the toolkit. Consortium partners also used the meeting to confirm their approach towards piloting the toolkit, which will begin in early 2016.

IMPACT Europe project meeting in Brussels
RAN first-liners invited to provide input for piloting phase of IMPACT Europe
RAN first-liners have been invited to learn more about the ways they can provide input during the piloting phase of the IMPACT Europe evaluation toolkit. The European Commission launched the EU-wide Radicalisation Awareness Network (RAN) in September 2011 to help first-line local practitioners engaged in counter-radicalisation efforts and to facilitate the exchange of experiences and best practices between them.

IMPACT Europe consortium partners take part in event on Radicalisation and the Role of Schools, Youth Care and Local Government
IMPACT Europe consortium partners attended a Local Professionals Day on “Radicalisation and the Role of Schools, Youth Care and Local Government,” which took place on 18 June in The Hague, Netherlands. With discussions at the event revolving around persistent gaps in knowledge about what works in deradicalisation and the vital importance of evaluating deradicalisation interventions as a first step towards increasing their impact, IMPACT Europe attracted considerable interest from many of the event participants.

IMPACT Europe researcher attends inaugural meeting of the Dutch Platform for Researchers on Radicalisation and Extremism
The database on factors leading to radicalisation, counter violent radicalisation interventions, and evaluations of these interventions that forms part of the empirical basis of the IMPACT Europe evaluation toolkit was presented at the inaugural meeting of the Dutch Platform for Researchers on Radicalisation and Extremism, which took place on 4 June 2015 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The goal of the Platform is to facilitate the exchange, enhancement, and dissemination of the latest knowledge in the field of deradicalisation research and to provide a long-term view on how to most effectively tackle challenges in the domain of counter violent radicalisation work.
